Antonio Ruiz replaced Vera Buzanello in the general direction of Discovery IberiaRuiz joined Discovery in 2007 as director of channel for Spain, France and Portugal and since then has held various positions in marketing and communication from Paris, Milan and Madrid. In 2015, the Vice President of marketing and management of franchises of Eurosport took over.

From March 1, 2018 Antonio Ruiz replaced Vera Buzanello in the general direction of Discovery Communications Iberia, with responsibility for the markets of Spain and Portugal.

Ruiz joined Discovery in 2007 as director of channel for Spain, France and Portugal and since then has held various positions in marketing and communication from Paris, Milan and Madrid. In 2015, took the Vice President of marketing and franchise of Eurosport management, managing development and momentum of the brand from Paris Eurosport.

The new director-general will report to the Director of strategy for EMEA and Director general for South, Marinella Soldi Europe region.

In this way, Antonio Ruiz will replace Vera Buzanello, who has held this position since April 2016, year in which moved to Madrid from Brazil, where had directed the strategy and relationships with affiliates for Discovery in Latin America.

Ruiz will replace Vera Buzanello, who moved from Brazil to Spain to deal with Discovery Communications in the Peninsula in April 2016. Its grand strategy and business acumen, resulted in a growth of pay television business Discovery Latin America record, building a business of distribution of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Soldi underlined that after a professional career "extremely successful Discovery spanning almost twenty years, Vera has decided to leave the company and spend some well deserved time with his young family and explore new opportunities. "He has developed an amazing relationship with our partners, has a high profile within the industry, is admired by the team and you miss it tremendously less, but we wish you best of luck in all your future projects".
