Telef nica to Offer Cloud-Based Content Storage Management Powered by Front Porch Digitals LYNXSM Services in Spain, Portugal, and South America

Front Porch Digital and Telef nica today announced a cooperation agreement under which Telef nica will offer cloud services to its customers powered by Front Porch Digitals LYNXSM cloud-based content storage management (CSM) service. Telef nica will install LYNX in its data center in Spain, from which it will resell LYNX services. Telef nicas new offering, media management in the cloud, will target customers in Spain, Portugal, and South America, focusing on broadcasters with the need to manage large media archives.

The broadcast industry is facing a paradigm shift and moving from broadcast distribution to broadband distribution, said Rino Petricola, senior vice president and general manager at Front Porch Digital. This partnership with one of the worlds largest telecom operators clearly positions Front Porch Digital at the convergence point between broadcast and broadband, and opens up new opportunities for deploying our LYNX services.

The cooperation agreement between the two companies went into effect on July 29 and the service is now available to Telef nica customers.
