Luminair v.5 adds enhanced lighting controls for Film/TV production

Synthe FX has announced the immediate availability of Luminair v3.5, a free update to the award-winning DMX lighting control software for iPad Pro, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple Watch. The new release is focused on adding new options that enhance the creative workflow for film and television production, a market which has widely adopted Luminair app as the preferred mobile lighting control solution both on-set and in the field.

New in v3.5 are native DMX Color Temperature controls, HSI Color support, as well as new camera-ready FX types.

The new Color Temperature controls are designed to work with both 1-channel and 2-channel DMX parameters. Users can utilize the new color temperature features by working from fixture profiles or by adding individual CCT faders. In both cases the temperature values are displayed in Kelvin and the ranges can be edited to correspond with manufacturer specifications. HSI Color parameters are also now natively supported in v3.5.

New FX types included in v3.5 are Television, Fire and Water. The new effects are designed for simulating these looks live, in-camera using any RGB(A/W) LED DMX wash light. Like Luminairs other included FX types, such as the Oscillator, Movement Generator and Random, these new types can be applied either to a single light or together across multiple lights through fixture linking.

Version 3.5 also adds new fixture profiles for popular lights geared towards film/television production, from manufacturers like LiteGear, Kino Flo, Cineo Lighting, Arri and more. The profiles take full advantage of the new features introduced in v3.5.
