DAZN has reportedly signed a deal with Telecom Italia that includes distribution and technological support as well as financing of around 1 billion for its bid to broadcast the next three seasons of Serie A.

According to Bloomberg, DAZN has offered 840 million per season for the rights to Italy's top football league. It says Telecom Italia could provide about 340 million a year in a content-distribution deal.

It quotes DAZN's plan to include an important distribution agreement with a partner who's an industry leader and will provide further support also from a financial point of view.

Telecom Italia already has a distribution deal in place with both DAZN and Sky to stream sports events on its TIM Vision video platform.

TIM released a statement to say it has reached an agreement with DAZN to extend its current distribution agreement conditional upon the streaming service winning the rights. The new agreement would start from July this year and cover all of DAZN's live and on-demand sports content.

The broadcast rights to Serie A matches are currently held by Sky.
