Thales continues to strengthen its international team with four new appointments to the International Development Department led by Pascale Sourisse: Antoine Caput, previously in charge of Thaless road tolling and traffic control business, becomes Vice President, Country Director in India, based in Delhi.
Alexis Dalem, previously special adviser to Laurent Fabius, French minister for foreign affairs and international development, joins Thales as Vice President, International Relations.
Ruben Lazo joins Thales as Vice President, Director for Latin America, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the energy, chemicals and telecommunications industries. He will be based in Sao Paulo.
Fr d rique Miller, previously Export Sales Director for radiocommunication products at Thales, becomes Vice President, Director for South Africa and Southern Africa. Fr d rique will be based in Johannesburg.
Biographical notesAntoine Caput, 53, has extensive experience in the ground transportation sector. Before joining Thales in 2000, Antoine spent 10 years at Alcatel CGA, where he was in charge of export sales for East Asia. At Thales, Antoine has held various senior positions in contract management and later in purchasing. From 2005 to 2007, he managed Thaless joint venture with Panda Electronics in Nanjing, China. He then moved to Thaless fare collection systems business, where he headed the bids department. From 2009, Antoine was in charge of Thaless road tolling and traffic control business, which operates largely through public-private partnerships. Antoine Caput is a graduate of the Institut Sup rieur de Gestion de Paris.
Alexis Dalem, 40, has a strong expertise in diplomacy, international relations, local economic development, and public policy. For about 10 years, he's been teaching political science and international relations at the Institut d tudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) and the University of Versailles. From 2004, he also worked at the French parliament and at local communities level, as adviser to the President of the Seine-Saint-Denis departmental council on economic development, employment, European and international relations and new technologies. In 2009, he was appointed director of policy for the Socialist Party. From May 2012 to September 2014, he served as special adviser to Laurent Fabius, French minister for foreign affairs and international development. Alexis is a graduate of the cole Normale Sup rieure and holds an MSc in political theory from the London School of Economics, a DEA postgraduate diploma in political science from Sciences-Po Paris and a DEA in philosophy from the Sorbonne.
Ruben Lazo, 53, held positions in engineering, business development, corporate management, marketing and sales with various international corporations. He was Vice President at Areva T&D for the Americas region from 2007 to 2011 when he was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer at Areva. Before joining Thales, Ruben Lazo was serving as President of Vestas Brazil. Ruben Lazo holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of S o Paulo and a postgraduate degree in business administration from the Funda o Get lio Vargas in S o Paulo. He completed the international management programme at HEC as well as the executive management programme at Harvard Business School.
Fr d rique Miller, 48, joined Thales in 2010 as Export Sales Director, Radiocommunication Products, at Thales Communications & Security. Previously, Fr d rique spent 19 years in the broadcasting industry, joining Thomson Broadcast Systems in 1991, Nextream in 2001 and Grass Valley in 2006, where she held senior positions in export sales. Earlier in her career, Fr d rique was a sales executive at Sony. Fr d rique is a graduate of the cole Sup rieure de Commerce in Dijon, the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the the IHEDN armament & defence economy institute (Institut des Hautes Etudes de D fense Nationale).
