Sekelompok organisasi kreatif yang bekerja di garis depan Produksi Virtual UK telah mengumumkan kemitraan gabungan yang bertujuan memberikan wawasan, keahlian, dan pelatihan praktis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bagi komunitas kreatif UK dalam teknologi produksi virtual terkini.
Perusahaan hiburan virtual peraih beberapa penghargaan yaitu Dimension, cabang produksi Sky di seluruh Eropa yaitu Sky Studios, pusat efek visual yaitu DNEG, perusahaan teknologi acara dan siaran yaitu Creative Technology, serta perancang dan produsen kamera dan sistem pencahayaan terkemuka yaitu ARRI, telah menggabungkan kekuatan mereka dalam insiatif yang pertama dalam industri tersebut, dengan pemenang dua piala Oscar dan Pengarah Kreatif DNEG, Paul Franklin ( Interstellar , Inception ) sebagai pengarah proyek R&D.
Difilmkan dalam waktu dua minggu lebih pada bulan Oktober 2021 di panggung mix reality ARRI, didukung oleh Creative Technology, di Uxbridge, London Barat, Proyek Inovasi Produksi Virtual tersebut dijalankan untuk menunjukkan keunggulan dan keserbagunaan produksi virtual untuk pengambilan gambar VFX dalam kamera dan hasil akhir bidikan piksel menggunakan volume LED, juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan generasi berikutnya dari bakat kreatif.

Proyek Inovasi Produksi Virtual tersebut difilmkan selama dua minggu lebih pada bulan Oktober 2021 di panggung realitas campuran ARRI dan Creative Technology yang terletak di Uxbridge, London.
Proyek ini akan diedit menjadi serangkaian film pendek, yang masing-masing menyediakan penelusuran mendalam ke adegan tertentu dan sasaran produksi virtual. Bersama-sama, mereka akan memberikan pandangan yang komprehensif dan penuh wawasan tentang teknologi mutakhir, teknik, pencapaian, dan pembelajaran utama dari proyek, serta menunjukkan keserbagunaan produksi virtual di berbagai genre, untuk produksi siaran dan film layer lebar.

Produksi virtual menciptakan revolusi dalam industri layar lebar-dan mempercepat proses kreatif-dengan memungkinkan pembuat film melihat efek visual secara real-time saat mereka melakukan syuting. Hal ini dicapai dengan menggabungkan teknologi mesin game mutakhir, seperti Unreal Engine dari Epic Games, dengan layar LED resolusi tinggi yang besar, untuk menciptakan adegan 3D yang sangat realistis secara langsung di lokasi syuting. Penggabungan teknologi ini membebaskan beberapa elemen dari proses produksi linier tradisional (produksi langsung dilanjutkan dengan efek visual) yang dikerjakan bersama secara paralel, memungkinkan pengambilan keputusan yang lebih kolaboratif dan kreatif antar tim.
Hasilnya menciptakan perubahan besar: adegan dapat difilmkan dalam kamera tanpa memerlukan pekerjaan VFX lebih lanjut dalam pascaproduksi; pencahayaan dari lokasi bisa digunakan untuk menerangi pemeran secara autentik; perubahan adegan dan transformasi dapat dilakukan secara real-time di lokasi syuting; dan para pemeran bisa melihat dan merespons dunia virtual yang realistis di sekitar mereka, sehingga mereka bisa tampil dengan lebih baik. Produksi virtual juga memungkinkan industri layar lebar mengurangi jejak karbon produksi dengan membatasi kebutuhan untuk melakukan perjalanan ke lokasi tambahan. Pemeran dan kru dapat melakukan perjalanan ke berbagai dunia dari satu tempat.

Produksi virtual juga memungkinkan industri layar lebar mengurangi jejak karbon produksi dengan membatasi kebutuhan untuk melakukan perjalanan ke lokasi tambahan.
