5G coming to Warner Bros. for AT&T SHAPE this Summer

5G to become permanent fixture at Warner Bros. in the coming year

AT&T plans to bring its largest collection to-date of 5G experiences and demonstrations, as well as an expansive lineup of 5G thought leaders, to Warner Bros. June 22-23 in Los Angeles for AT&T SHAPE, an immersive event exploring the convergence of technology and entertainment.

In its fourth year, AT&T SHAPE will explore 5G and the future of entertainment through interactive exhibits and thought-provoking speakers. To bring 5G to life, AT&T will deploy 5G at SHAPE which will ultimately become a permanent fixture and cover the entire Warner Bros. studio facility. Once operational, this mobile 5G connectivity will have the ability to maximize technical efficiencies and give content creators more flexibility to enhance the production experience.

Developers, creators and media makers at AT&T SHAPE will see 5G technology and entertainment in exciting new ways, said David Christopher, president of AT&T mobility and entertainment. By bringing the power of 5G to Warner Bros., and other WarnerMedia properties in the future, we hope to inspire the next generation of creators to unlock the full potential of 5G.

The interactive experiences at SHAPE are designed to let guests experience the unprecedented responsiveness and speed of 5G. Guests will engage with the future of road-based travel in an IoT-enabled Airstream Classic travel trailer with Smart Control Technology that AT&T is connecting over 5G, experience gaming on cutting edge 5G mobile devices, enjoy immersive entertainment with volumetric video capture and cutting-edge virtual reality content from Warner Bros.

Previously announced AT&T 5G Innovation Program participants and new ones - HTC and RED - will provide an updated look at some of the ideas and real-life use cases that have been in development. Participants including Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung will showcase 5G experiences. Additionally, Magic Leap and WarnerMedia properties including HBO will speak to their visions of how-to bring entertainment to life in a 5G world.
