Panasonic a new camera for digital cinematography intended to compete with other alternatives such as the Canon C200 and the FS5 Sony and FS7 will launch this autumn. Halfway between the popular Panasonic GH5 and VariCam LT, the new EVA1 has a sensor 5.7K Super 35mm can capture images in 5.7K, 4K, UHD, 2K and even 720 p.
Compact and light with just 1.2 kilos of weight, the EVA1 has been designed as a handheld camera intended for the production of film, documentary, advertising or video clips.
He has the stabilization EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) system, uses an EF lens mount and also incorporates a ND filter composed of 2, 4, and 6 stops.
One of its greatest virtues is that it will offer the ISO Dual native the VariCam 35, VariCam LT and VariCam puree, that allows to extract the maximum information without degrading the image a while allows to switch to one higher sensitivity without increasing the noise level. Differentiated features of logarithmic curve reminiscent somehow negative films, and V-Gamut offers even greater than those movies color space. The EVA1 will also inherit the celebrated Colorimetry of the VariCam line.
Maximum versatility
A body of only 1.2 kg of weight, compact size (17 cm x 13.5 cm x 13.3 cm) and a removable handle allow to use the EVA1 for shots without a tripod and mounting on a drone, a pen or gimbal for complex but fluid camera movements. Therefore, the camera has been developed especially for shooting without a tripod, although it is also suitable for documentaries, commercials and music videos.
The EVA1 allows to record in low-cost and easily accessible SD card. The camera can record in various formats and compression rates, and offers up to recording 4: 2; 2 to 10 - bit, even at 4 K resolution. A full breakdown of the available recording formats will be provided at the time of the launch of the EVA1.
Lenses with EF mount
The camera uses a native EF mount, which allows the filmmakers access to the broad ecosystem of EF, including dozens of fixed objectives and cinematic style of several manufacturers zoom.
E.I.S. and built-in ND filters
Electronic stabilization of images (EIS) function compensates for shaking of the camera and the blur effect, to compensate the made shots with the camera in the hand or on the shoulder in documentaries or fast recording projects. Behind the lens mount, a ND filter wheel integrated with 2, 4, and 6 stops allows precise control of the exhibition. The EVA1 also allows to extract filter infrared lock placed on the sensor via the push of a button. The infrared control allows you to get unique photographic effects and images of night vision.
