La trama cuenta, con mucha brasilidad , una gran historia de amor prohibido marcada por encuentros y desencuentros de una pareja que se enamora a pesar de la gran rivalidad existente entre sus familias por generaciones. Con escenarios impresionantes y hermosos paisajes del nordeste brasile o, la superserie se presentar en Miami durante la pr xima edici n en el NATPE, que tendr lugar entre el 16 y el 18 de enero.
En Brasil, Viejo R o impact a m s de 42 millones de personas por d a durante su exhibici n en el prime time de Globo. Y en Portugal, donde se transmiti en el canal Globo b sico, gan ocho veces el puesto de programa de TV pagada m s visto del d a.
En la trama, a orillas del r o S o Francisco -uno de los cursos de agua m s importantes de Brasil y Am rica del Sur, con casi 3000 km- Maria Tereza (Camila Pitanga, Lado a Lado/Julia Dalavia, Justicia) y Santo (Domingos Montagner, Partes de M /Renato G es, Relaciones Peligrosas) se enamoran. Los dos viven en la ficticia Grotas de S o Francisco, una ciudad dominada por el poderoso Coronel Afr nio (Ant nio Fagundes, Rastros de Mentiras/Rodrigo Santoro, Mujeres Apasionadas), padre de Tereza y heredero de la familia que comanda por muchas d cadas la pol tica y la econom a local. Al otro lado, vive Santo con la familia del Capit n Rosa (Rodrigo Lombardi, Verdades Secretas), hombre de conducta honorable que, junto con su esposa, recibi al ni o y a sus padres en su granja. Cuando el padre de Tereza descubre el romance prohibido, decide separar a la pareja y pone a la joven en un internado, donde ella descubre que espera un hijo de su gran amor. Pero ni el tiempo ni la rivalidad entre las familias ser n suficientes para acabar con el romance. Y los conflictos del pasado se pondr n a prueba cuando ellos se reencuentran 30 a os despu s, ahora con vidas totalmente diferentes.
Con 60 episodios, la s per serie trae una producci n de alta calidad que cont con un intenso trabajo de investigaci n, preparaci n de reparto y equipo, vestuario, escenograf a y grabaciones que ayudan a llevar al p blico a un viaje bello y realista por el nordeste brasile o de los a os 60 hasta la actualidad. Cerca de 500 escenas se grabaron en ciudades del interior de estados como Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte y Alagoas, con un equipo de 120 personas y el apoyo de los residentes locales. Adem s, fue construida una ciudad esc nica en los Estudios Globo, en R o de Janeiro, con 10.000 m y 73 edificios inspirados en los lugares reales, con reutilizaci n de parte de materiales ya utilizados en otras producciones de Globo.
A esto, se suma la actuaci n de un elenco de estrellas reconocidas mundialmente como Tarc sio Meira y Marcelo Serrado (ambos de Gabriela), Christiane Torloni (Fina Estampa), Dira Paes (India - Una historia de amor), entre muchas otras.

Globo estar en la Tresor Tower, suite 1701, durante el Natpe 2018, que se celebra del 16 al 18 de enero. La empresa brasile a, que produce, exhibe y distribuye contenido multig nero alrededor del mundo para diversas plataformas, ofrecer su tradicional desayuno de exhibici n en la ma ana del d a 16 (de 8h a 10h, en el sal n Glimmer de la Torre Versalles), donde lanzar su nuevo cat logo de t tulos in ditos.
