Orad premieres next generation 4Designer authoring software at NAB booth SL6319 04 Mar 2014

Orad Hi-Tec Systems, leader in video and graphics solutions for the broadcast market, will unveil 4Designer and RenderEngine7, the next generation of its real-time graphics authoring software this NAB at booth SL6319.

As the successor to the award winning 3Designer, 4Designer offers not only new capabilities that streamline the graphics creation workflow, but also a complete overhaul of the user interface and features based upon customer feedback.

4Designer and RenderEngine7 are native 64-bit applications which allow artists to take full advantage of todays' computing environments to build complex graphical content. New workspace layouts support high resolution / multi-monitor desktop displays that are common in most design departments and give designers the flexibility to arrange the user interface according to their requirements.

4Designer is geared towards real-time on-air graphics creation from humble SD, through HD, UltraHD and large scale video walls.

The user interface provides an improved object tree with material and texture previews, object isolation that lets the designer focus on the elements currently being edited both in the tree and in the preview.

New preview features include a multi-camera local preview which gives artists multiple working cameras for designing complex graphics; for virtual studio designers, this multi-camera preview allows them to easily realize all the camera angles used in a production without requiring a connection to the virtual studio.

Master animations reduce the time spent sequencing animation playback in controllers by allowing designers to combine different timelines into master animations that can be controlled independently. Coupled with the new export control designers can precisely time the way data is sent into a scene during production without needing to replicate this timing in the production controller.

File import options have been greatly extended to include industry standards FBX, LWO, X3D, 3DS, DXF, VRML and Collada, so that externally generated content can be easily incorporated in the production.

In addition to huge performance increases, RenderEngine7 brings a host of new capabilities, including real-time motion blur; a new shader pipeline for full-screen visual effect assignment during production and new geometry objects that further extend the modeling options for the designers.
