BroadStream enhances production and playout with introduction of HARBOR Master Control Video Server

BroadStream Solutions, the global broadcast solutions provider, today announces that they are introducing a new Broadcast Quality Video Server fully integrated with HARBOR Master Control Automation Software.

The new HARBOR Video Server from BroadStream Solutions is a cost-effective, scalable, performance Video Server for both Production and Playout. It includes up to 4 SDI in and out per server and the system is easily expandable to multiple servers sharing NAS storage and a centralized database management system.

HARBOR will be unveiled at this years NAB 2015, where visitors to BroadStreams stand will be able to experience the companys full suite of broadcast solutions. The company will be exhibiting at booth# N3118 (North Hall).

This new Video Server is a true, drop-in replacement server for many broadcasters who need to update their Video Server but are not yet ready to transition their automation software. HARBOR includes industry-standard control and management interfaces, enabling broadcasters to replace their aging Video Servers with HARBOR and still use their existing automation software. If they wish, they can opt to use the HARBOR on-board Master Control software as well.

HARBOR provides absolute, broadcast-grade reliability and performance in a single system with optional on-board up/down conversion on playout, redundant power supplies and NIC controllers coupled with RAID protected storage and SSD OS drives.

Wolk continued, The HARBOR Video Server provides broadcasters with three key advantages. First, its a very cost-effective, drop-in replacement for many aging video servers, secondly we provide industry standard control and automation hooks as well as the full HARBOR Master Control Automation System so customers will have good choices for station automation. Third and most importantly, this hardware configuration is robust enough to handle the transition to Channel in a Box with our OASYS Integrated Playout Solution when they are ready to streamline their workflows. This means they can retire their connected devices, such as graphics boxes and use the integrated graphics capability built into OASYS, without fear or concern of losing capability. Instead they will gain features, flexibility and enhanced capability.
