The CalDigit T3 is a unique three bay Thunderbolt RAID storage solution that features RAID 0 for performance, RAID 1 for protection, and JBOD. Priced similarly to dual bay Thunderbolt RAID devices, the T3 gives users an extra drive bay that drastically improves performance and storage capacities. The T3 can support both high performance SSDs, and high capacity 3.5 HDDs. With SSDs installed the T3 can reach speeds of 850MB/s. With 3.5 HDDs installed it can reach speeds of 550MB/s. The T3 is available in capacities ranging from 6TB to 12TB when used with 3.5 HDDs. The SSD version of the T3 is available in capacities up to 2.88TB.

To put the T3's performance into context, dual bay RAID solutions typically achieve speeds of 300MB/s, four bay RAID solutions achieve 500MB/s, and six bay RAID solutions achieve 800MB/s. The CalDigit T3 with just three drives can achieve speeds of 850MB/s in a smaller and more compact form-factor , said Kosta Panagos, Director of Marketing at CalDigit.

The versatility of the T3 allows professional users to adapt it to suit their particular needs. Featuring a RAID + JBOD mode, the T3's unique three bay design allows users to mix a RAID and JBOD in the same device. On top of this users can also mix and match SSDs and 3.5 HDDs in the same unit, giving them both performance and incredible storage capacities in the same device.

The T3's performance makes it the ideal RAID solution to use with 4K and HD post-production workflows. No longer do you need large external storage devices to be able to edit with big video files. The dual Thunderbolt ports allow you to daisy-chain it as part of six devices. In fact if you daisy-chain six T3 units together it would give you a total capacity of 72TB.

The three drive bays in the T3 are removable allowing users to upgrade and expand their storage. You can purchase the 3.5 HDD version of the T3 and upgrade to the SSD version in the future. The removable drive modules in the T3 also work with CalDigit's other storage solutions, making it incredibly easy to move data from one location to the other.
