FilmLight chooses Jigsaw24 Media as exclusive UK partner...

FilmLight, best known for its grading system Baselight, has chosen Jigsaw24 Media as the first global and exclusive UK partner for their new product, Nara. The announcement follows the launch of the new media tool at the 2024 NAB Show.

Nara speeds up and simplifies collaborative tasks such as progress reviews, approval and compliance processes for media professionals. At the heart of the product is its ability to natively decode and play back a wide selection of media without the need to transcode to proxy files which solves a number of challenges for post-production facilities and VFX houses. Nara provides controlled media access via a web-based media browser for secure review of content, offers colour-accurate media previews of any media codec and has an efficient index system with media-specific metadata for fast search and access. It supports on premise and in the cloud storage and can be client deployed or delivered as a complete turnkey solution.

Molinare, one of London's leading post-production houses, was involved from the early stages of the Nara beta programme. Darren Woolfson, CTO of Molinare Creative Group, commented, Nara's background indexing along with its familiar user interface allows us to find media quickly. We can simply navigate through directories or create advanced searches based on media metadata. Once found, pretty much any file format can be securely viewed in the correct colour space from a web browser almost immediately.
