StarliteHD - Transvideos new on-board profeional G-SDI field monitor the size of a smartphone

Award winning French monitor company Transvideo has furthered its commitment to Digital Cinematography by the launch of a new concept of on-board field monitor, StarliteHD.

With cameras reducing in size and portable systems becoming more and more compact, Transvideo has created a small 5 HD OLED monitor, about the size of a smartphone and weighting only 190 Grams.

Despite its incredible small form factor StarliteHD is a professional high-end 3G-SDI field monitor. Built-in tools include a high-resolution waveform monitor and a precision vectorscope, while an embedded recorder delivers dailies in H.264 on to SD cards. Yet more features will be announced soon.

A new concept of human interface uses the power of the touch screen panel and rids the user of incomprehensible and endless tiered menus.

The housing is extremely rugged, machined in avionics aluminium a wide range of accessories is planned, from battery support to detachable sun hood and more.

Several patents are pending.

Anthony Dod Mantle, Director of Photography (Slumdog Millionaire, Rush, ) commented about StarliteHD: I have spent my entire career since the advent of digital image capture celebrating the gradual improvements all of onboard monitor systems. It has been slow, from almost dinosaur ergonomics to what I now consider to be state of the art manufacturing and performance. Not only do I rejoice in the image quality and finger tip functioning, I celebrate its very design finesse and portability. Congratulations to all the team surrounding its evolution!

On-line pre-order starts during NAB2014 for a delivery this summer.

StarliteHD will be presented on the Transvideo Booth #C6443 at NAB, Las Vegas April 7-10.
