HPA IMF Group and SMPTE to Cohost Panel at NAB Show 2022

At NAB 2022, SMPTE Hollywood and the HPA IMF User Group will co-host a session on Interoperable Master Format (IMF) and its impact on content owners, service providers and technology developers.

IMF is fast becoming the standard deliverable for studios and streamers. A panel of experts from leading technology companies will review the format's potential for standardizing digital content delivery and offer advice on best practices for implementing IMFs across a range of processes and applications. The session is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at3:30 p.m. in the Intelligent Content Experiential Zone (W 3122).

Speakers will include Atelier Chief Operating Officer Bill Admans, Rohde & Schwarz Business Development Manager Carlos Carmona, Colorfront Director of Business Development Bruno Munger and MTI Film Director of Business Development Randy Reck. Journalist Debra Kaufman will moderate.

Bill Admans, Chief Operating Officer, Atelier, leads operations, media services, human capital, and marketing teams for Atelier, the premier SaaS cloud platform for creative and supply chain workflows. With an extensive career covering the Americas, Europe, and Asia/Pacific, Admans has led ground-breaking strategies for launching innovative technologies and headed world-class post-production business operations with prominent global companies, including Netflix, Dolby, Avid, and Technicolor.

Carlos M. Carmona, Business Development Manager, Rohde & Schwarz USA, is responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships with M&E entities ranging from movie studios to amusement parks, managing national accounts in the U.S., and overseeing pre-sales activities in Latin America. He previously served as Senior Solutions Architect at NBCUniversal. His 20+ year career began as an intern in international post-production at DreamWorks SKG and later segued into engineering, technology, and business roles at Deluxe Digital Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Bruno Munger, Director of Business Development, Colorfront, oversees sales, support and development for the company's award-winning on-set dailies and transcoding systems. A 30-year industry veteran, he has expertise in workflow design for file-based 2D/3D image capture, file-based delivery, VFX and digital intermediate color grading. He previously served as CTO and vice president at ALT Systems. His background also includes posts in product management, product design, business development and customer training at Digital Vision, Autodesk, MTI Films and Snell & Wilcox.

Randy Reckserves as Director of Product Development for MTI Film overseeing software development for both CORTEX and DRS Nova products. Randy joined the company in 2015 having been a development engineer at Encore Hollywood, Chief Engineer at RIOT Santa Monica, Chief Cinemascan Engineer at EFilm where he developed the Cinemascan system, and Product Manager for workflow systems at Panavision. He brings a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of imaging technology and dailies workflows, which makes him uniquely qualified to lead the effort for MTI Film's products.

Moderator

Debra Kaufman is widely recognized for her journalistic contributions in covering the film and television industry. Her byline can be found in the USC Entertainment Technology Center's ETCentric newsletter as well as in American Cinematographer, ICG Magazine, the Motion Picture Editors Guild's CineMontage and elsewhere. She earned her master's degree from UCLA and a bachelor's from UC Berkeley and has worked for UNESCO in Paris and the United Nations in New York.
