Large Quantities of Waxberries Exported from Ningbo to Hong Kong

On the midnight of June 21st, the Cargo Charter Number O36891 took off from Ningbo Airport with nearly 3.5 tons of fresh waxberry passengers on board, whose destination is Hong Kong. Two hours later, the waxberry passengers landed at Hong Kong Airport and found their ways to the hands of local civilian. The air export has increased the price of waxberries sevenfold, which also has increased economic benefits considerably, said by the source in Ningbo Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine.

The home of most of these waxberries is Cixi Chunwang Fruit and Vegetable Garden According to the person in charge of the airport of ShunFeng Express Co.ltd., the picking time ended on June 19th with 963 boxes of waxberries in total. The waxberries were transported to Ningbo Lishe Airport on the afternoon of June 20th after the being inspected in the local inspection and quarantine department, who then took their flight to Hong Kong on the midnight of June 21st .

Five tests need to be done to ensure the quality of exported waxberries said the staff of Ningbo Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine. First , the waxberries whose size cannot meet the specifications and the leaky ones will be eliminated from the beginning round. Second, Select the waxberries carefully. Fourth, precool the selected waxberries in the freezers for 10 hours to prolong their shelf-life. Fifth, Put the waxberries into the boxes after getting them out of the freezer. The boxes will be sealed after one or two ice bags are put in according to the specification of the packages.

It is known that the former pattern of fruit export consists of the batch purchase of fruits by the seller and the delivery to local consumers, which may turn the waxberries into the drug in the market.
