New for NAB Show 2019: Carbonite Ultra V2.0 for 12G/UHD Production Switcher Functionality

Ottawa, Canada, April 7th 2019 - Ross Video is pleased to announce Carbonite Ultra V2.0, the latest software version release for the Carbonite Ultra production switcher that delivers above-and-beyond the promised 12G/UHD feature set initially unveiled at IBC 2018. With V2.0, Carbonite Ultra switchers equipped with 2 and 3 SD/HD ME will have access to UHD formats and single-link 12G connectivity. On the UHD ME side, 2 SD/HD ME systems will receive 1 UHD ME, while 3 SD/HD ME systems will receive 2 UHD MEs. In UHD formats, 2 UHD MiniMEs are always available regardless of configuration. Along with multi-ME UHD functionality, users will have access to 18 x 12 G inputs / 16 x 12G & 2 Quad-Link 2Si inputs and 10 x 12G outputs.

Carbonite Ultra gives you all the tools you need to create a compelling production in UHD formats, all UHD MEs & MiniMES have access to a 2-of-everything set of UHD switcher resources: 2 UHD DVEs, 2 UHD MediaStores with key+fill, 2 UHD chroma keyers, and up to 2 MultiViewers (1080P). When using Carbonite Ultra's standard processing resources in UHD mode, users will have access to 2 frame sync/format Converters and 2 proc amp/colour correctors that are assignable to any input or output. When using the software-licensed PLUS I/O resources in UHD mode, Carbonite Ultra will provide 8 FS/FCs (assignable to any input), 4 format converters (assignable to any output, and 8 freely-assignable PA/CCs.

Version 2.0 also improves upon the core feature set of Carbonite Ultra with 2 additional UltraChrome chroma keyers (for a total of 4) and 1080p 60 format support.
