Industry recognition again

I'm very pleased to yet again see industry recognition in the form of being shortlisted for three awards for the prestigious CSI Awards at this year's IBC. It's great to see that the team's hard work is being recognized. One of our key corporate values is aspiration , and to continuously push the industry forward with new ideas and technologies is one of the most important aspects of this.

Together with OSN in Dubai, we believe that we have successfully deployed one of the most innovative pay TV user experiences on mobile devices the OSN App. We firmly believe in the pay TV operator model, and conclude that they need to fully embrace new technologies and modern approaches to app and software development to maximize the potential they have. OSN is one of the fastest growing pay TV operators and they truly believe that mobile is a key differentiator in the market. We're of course very excited to have deployed this innovative service, which has been shortlisted in the category best interactive TV solution.

We have also been nominated for in the best TV everywhere/multi-screen video category for OTT Flow, with partner Brightcove. OTT Flow is already gaining momentum with content owners looking for a fast to market, quick to monetise complete OTT solution. I'm proud of the excellent work we're doing with Brightcove and think that this is a great example of how modern innovation is done together in a customer centric way.

In a totally different area, our Project Himalaya has been shortlisted in the category best Virtual Reality application . I firmly believe in VR as a key opportunity for video services. Of course, this will take time to become mass market, but the extremely rapid innovation in the VR industry will create a very interesting sub market for content creators and media companies, which will then drive consumer uptake in 3-4 years from now. Personally, I think live events will be more important that movies and drama, but we can see clear use cases in different areas. Project Himalaya is the first of many VR applications Accedo is bringing to the market over the coming months and years.
