Avid Everywhere(TM) Powers Cannes Film Festival

Avid(R) (Nasdaq:AVID) has announced today that its solutions will be used to power the post-production of this years Cannes Film Festival.

Avid Elite partner VIDELIO - CapCine is once again providingpost-production facilities for Le Grand Journal de Canal +, Orange Cinema Series , TV Festival and LOreal which will produce festival coverage airing on Frances Orange TV, YouTube, Dailymotion, Canal Plus and LOreal Website. Broadcast worldwide, viewers will have a front rowseat to live interviews with talent and behind the scenes crew, red carpet footage, press conferences and film reviews.

The on-location editing teams will be employing the Avid MediaCentralplatform to provide a seamless workflow for efficient running of the production. Four centralized ISIS(R) storage systems will be installed to provide power, reliability and storage capacity to sustain real-time workflows in the demanding environment. Two Avid AirSpeed(R) 5000

acquisition servers are also being utilized for their ingest and playout capability, slow motion playback and support for third party editing systems. All 26 editing stations will be equipped with Avid Media Composer(R) software. Designed to handle high volumes of disparate file based media, the software complements the nature of the event, which will call for quick turn-arounds and fast delivery times.
