KCETs Local Hers Awards Cultural Diversity Celebration Airs on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m.

Burbank, Calif. - Nov. 18, 2013 - KCET, the nations largest independent public television station, will broadcast its annual Local Heroes Awards Cultural Diversity Celebration on Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. KCETLink, in collaboration with Union Bank, N.A., celebrates diversity all year long by recognizing remarkable individuals in our community. The Local Heroes initiative culminates with this spectacular event.

Hosted by actress Tempestt Bledsoe, this years 90-minute program celebrates the extraordinary contributions of 12 outstanding community leaders, with exciting performances by Grammy -award winning band, Quetzal, New Directions Veterans Choir and Taiko Center of Los Angeles. The inspirational program was taped during the live event at Club Nokia at L.A. Live in October.
