IABM to hold first ever Regional Council in Singapore

Regional Councils will support members in local territories

IABM will host its first Regional Council in Singapore during the Broadcast Asia Show on 2 June. The new initiative will also see the creation of Regional Councils in APAC, North America and Europe this year to further support and champion the broadcast and media technology supply industry.

The aim of the IABM Regional Councils will be to provide real focus on the diverse territories that its members trade in. The Councils will also enhance the IABM's presence within the region and create a forum for discussion and debate on issues pertinent to that area.

Peter Bruce, Director APAC, IABM says: I am delighted to be having the inaugural APAC council meeting with the IABM's Chief Executive, Mr. Peter White and the APAC council members here in Singapore during the Broadcast Asia show. The IABM have set up the APAC office here in Singapore at the end of last year and the APAC council indicates a real commitment to become internationalised and focus on the regional members and activities in the Asia Pacific.

The work of the Councils will be supported by the resident IABM executive staff member in the region. Drawn from senior executives in member companies the Regional Council Board will consist of a minimum of eight Council members and a Chair. During its first year selected members will be invited to join and participate with elections being held during the second year of incorporation.
