PBS Wins 7 News & Documentary Emmys

NEW YORK, NY; OCTOBER 1, 2018 -- PBS programs were honored with seven News & Documentary Emmy Awards, more than any other organization, at the 39th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards presentation at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Audiences are hungry for high-quality programs that bring light to the pressing issues of our day, said Paula Kerger, PBS President and CEO. We are tremendously proud to earn more News & Documentary Emmy Awards than any other organization for the fifth year in a row. Together with our producing partners and member stations, PBS continues to be a trusted beacon of education and inspiration for all Americans.

In addition to their programs and producers, PBS would like to congratulate Paula Apsell, Senior Executive Producer of NOVA and Director of the WGBH Science Unit, for her Lifetime Achievement Award. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences honored Apsell for her distinguished career of over four decades in science journalism, and for her 33 years of leadership at NOVA.
