CNN-Studie: Antisemitismus in Europa weit verbreitet, Erinnerung an den Holocaust schwindet Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Eine aktuelle CNN-Studie belegt, dass der Antisemitismus in Europa nach wie vor pr sent ist. Die Umfrageergebnisse deuten zudem daraufhin, dass die Erinnerungen an den Holocaust zunehmend schwinden - sogar in Deutschland. So gaben 40 Prozent der befragten jungen deutschen Erwachsenen an, dass sie wenig oder gar nichts ber den Holocaust wissen. Insgesamt wurden im Rahmen der Studie mehr als 7.000 Erwachsene aus sieben europ ischen L ndern* befragt.
Die Kernaussagen der Studie:
40 Prozent der befragten jungen deutschen Erwachsenen im Alter von 18 bis 34 Jahren gaben an, dass sie wenig oder gar nichts ber den Holocaust wissen. 20 Prozent der Befragten unter den jungen franz sischen Erwachsenen haben noch nie vom Holocaust geh rt.
Ein Drittel der befragten Europ er gab an, dass sie entweder nur ein wenig oder gar nichts ber den Holocaust wissen. Etwa jeder 20. Europ er hat noch nie etwas vom Holocaust geh rt.
Mehr als ein Viertel der befragten Europ er ist der Meinung, dass Juden zu viel Einfluss auf die Gesch fts- und Finanzwelt haben.
Jeder F nfte ist der Auffassung, dass Juden zu viel Einfluss im Medienbereich haben. Ebenso viele glauben, dass Juden zu viel Einfluss auf die Politik haben.
Fast jeder F nfte gab an, dass Antisemitismus im eigenen Land eine Reaktion auf das allt gliche Verhalten der j dischen Bev lkerung sei.
Clarissa Ward, CNN Chief International Correspondent, sagte: Die Ergebnisse sind schockierend und deuten auf tief verwurzelte Vorurteile gegen ber Juden hin, die nicht nur fortbestehen, sondern auch weit verbreitet sind. Das fehlende Wissen ber den Holocaust ist besonders berraschend, da Zehntausende von berlebenden des Holocaust noch am Leben sind und der Zweite Weltkrieg vor weniger als 75 Jahren endete.
Die Studie besch ftigte sich auch mit der Haltung der Befragten gegen ber Israel und offenbarte ein gemischtes Bild:
Eine knappe aber solide Mehrheit der befragten Europ er (54 Prozent) ist der Auffassung, dass Israel das Recht hat, als j discher Staat zu existieren.
Ein Drittel der Befragten glaubt, dass Kritik an Israel meist durch Antisemitismus motiviert ist. Nur jeder F nfte sagt, dass dies nicht der Fall ist.
Ein Drittel der Befragten gab jedoch auch an, dass Israel den Holocaust zur Rechtfertigung seiner Handlungen nutze.
Ein Drittel der befragten Europ er glaubt, dass die Anh nger Israels Vorw rfe des Antisemitismus nutzen, um die Kritik an dem Land zu unterdr cken.
Mehr als ein Viertel der Befragten gab an, dass der Gro teil des Antisemitismus im eigenen Land eine Reaktion auf die Handlungen des Staates Israel sei.
Viele Umfrageteilnehmer sind der Auffassung, dass Antisemitismus ein wachsendes Problem im eigenen Land sei. 40 Prozent der Befragten sagten, dass Juden in ihren L ndern von rassistischer Gewalt bedroht seien. Die H lfte glaubt, ihre Regierungen sollten mehr Ma nahmen zur Bek mpfung des Antisemitismus ergreifen.
Eine Vielzahl der Befragten bersch tzt die Zahl der Juden in der Welt drastisch. Nur sieben Prozent der Befragten gaben korrekt an, dass Juden weniger als ein Prozent der Weltbev lkerung ausmachen. Jeder siebte Befragte dachte, dass Juden mehr als 20 Prozent der Weltbev lkerung ausmachen.
Unter www.cnn.com/antisemitism wurde ein eigenes Themenportal eingerichtet.
Im Laufe der Woche werden die Berichte von Clarissa Ward im TV auf CNN International vorgestellt.
Dar ber hinaus wird Clarissa Ward am Freitag, den 30. November um 20.30 Uhr die Sondersendung A Shadow over Europe: Anti-Semitism in 2018 moderieren. Die Sendung wird die CNN-Recherchen mit den wichtigsten Erkenntnissen, Vor-Ort-Berichterstattung, Gastperspektiven und weltweiten Reaktionen zusammenf hren.
In einer Sonderausgabe von CNN Talk with Max Foster am Mittwoch, den 28. November um 13:00 Uhr wird das Thema Antisemitismus behandelt. W hrend der Sendung haben Zuschauer aus der ganzen Welt die M glichkeit, Fragen zur Studie direkt an Clarissa Ward zu richten.
* CNN arbeitete f r die Umfrage mit dem Meinungsforschungsinstitut ComRes zusammen. Im Zeitraum vom 7. September bis 20. September wurden 7.092 Erwachsene in sieben L ndern online befragt (Gro britannien: 1010; Frankreich: 1006; Deutschland: 1012; Polen: 1020; Ungarn: 1019; Schweden: 1018; sterreich: 1007). Die Daten wurden nach Alter, Geschlecht und Region gewichtet, um die Repr sentativit t der jeweiligen L nder zu gew hrleisten.
Die Umfrage wurde vor dem Attentat auf die Synagoge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA) in Auftrag gegeben und abgeschlossen.
