Schaeffler wird exklusiver Technologiepartner f r ABT Sportsline in der FIA Formula E
Wenn in einem Monat eine neue ra im Motorsport beginnt, ist Schaeffler mit dabei: Das Unternehmen geht als exklusiver Technologiepartner des Teams ABT Sportsline in der neuen FIA Formula E an den Start und wird mit seinem Logo auf den Autos von Daniel Abt und Lucas di Grassi werben. Die Serie wird mit rein elektrisch angetriebenen Rennautos in Metropolen rund um den Globus ausgetragen. Auftakt ist am 13. September in Peking (China).
Die Elektrifizierung des Autos mitzugestalten ist eines unserer zentralen strategischen Zukunftsthemen. Schaeffler ist auf diesem Gebiet einer der Innovationsf hrer und mit neuen Ideen oft genug Pionier. Die Formel E ist mutig und vision r, passt deshalb perfekt zu uns und ist eine ideale Erg nzung unserer Engagements in der DTM, der WEC und der Formula Student , sagt Technologie-Vorstand Prof. Peter Gutzmer. Motorsport ist nicht nur ideal, um die Fortentwicklung neuer Technologien zu beschleunigen, sondern l dt das Thema Elektromobilit t auf faszinierende Art und Weise mit Emotionen auf. Die Zusammenarbeit mit ABT Sportsline ist langfristig ausgelegt und geht weit ber ein reines Sponsoring hinaus. Wir werden die Weiterentwicklung des Rennautos und seiner Komponenten k nftig mit dem Know-how und der Erfahrung unserer Ingenieure unterst tzen , so Gutzmer.
Wir freuen uns, mit Schaeffler einen perfekten Partner f r die Herausforderungen in der Formel E an Bord zu haben, denn schon von dem Auftritt in der DTM wissen wir, mit welcher Leidenschaft alle Mitarbeiter im Motorsport dabei sind , sagt Gesch ftsf hrer Hans-J rgen Abt. Ein ganz wichtiger Aspekt ist die Kooperation im technischen Bereich. Schon in der zweiten Saison d rfen einige Komponenten des Fahrzeugs von den Teams weiterentwickelt werden - da ist ein Partner mit so gro er technischer Kompetenz und Erfahrung in der Elektromobilit t nat rlich Gold wert.
ABT Sportsline ist das einzige deutsche Team in einem internationalen Feld, zu dem Mannschaften aus den USA, Indien, China und Europa geh ren. Die ehemaligen Formel-1-Stars Alain Prost und Jarno Trulli sind ebenso mit eigenen Teams dabei wie Abenteurer Richard Branson und Schauspieler Leonardo DiCaprio. Mehr als zehn Piloten verf gen ber Erfahrung in der Formel 1. Darunter auch der Brasilianer Lucas di Grassi (30), der als Audi-Werksfahrer in der FIA Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft WEC startet. Das zweite Cockpit besetzt der deutsche Youngster Daniel Abt (21), der au erdem mit der GP2 im Formel-1-Rahmenprogramm startet.
Die Formel E tr gt ihre Rennen nicht auf permanenten Rennstrecken aus, sondern auf Stadtkursen im Herzen von Metropolen. Nach Peking, wo die Strecke auch um das Olympiastadion f hrt, geht es nach Putrajaya (Malaysia), Punta del Este (Uruguay), Buenos Aires (Argentinien), Miami und Long Beach (beide USA), Monaco und Berlin (Deutschland) sowie nach London (Gro britannien), wo am 27. Juni 2015 das Finale ausgetragen wird. Bei den Events werden Freies Training, Qualifying und Rennen an einem Tag gefahren.
