The JetStor solution is a unique hardware and software bundle optimized to store and deliver large-block files like high-definition (HD) film and television content, making it ideal for such applications as:
intensive multimedia projects
high definition video production
film and 3D animation
media storage.
The 16-Bay JetStor RDX16 deploys HD and solid-state drives (SSDs) for Tier0 and Tier1 shared storage. The RAIDIX software automatically identifies and relocates frequently accessed data to the SSDs for the fastest access and media transfer speeds possible. Frames are never lost even with concurrent HD or 2K-8K digital video streams. Additionally, the RAIDIX software ensures that the hardware always performs at maximum capabilities.
The partnership between JetStor, RAIDIX, and ATTO Technology has built a storage server solution that is optimized for the most demanding media workloads, said Gene Leyzarovich, president of AC&NC. Even the largest production files are quickly available without latency and are never at risk. Moreover, the platform can be scaled out using commodity hardware, providing economical expansion.
The JetStor RDX16 solution uses RAIDIX error-correction technology to detect and fix silent corruptions while normal disk operations are performing without performance degradation. The system also conducts background scans for silent errors during lower-activity periods. As a result, they eliminate data loss, ensuring that vital files always remain intact.
JetStor RDX platforms offer erasure coding and are the only large-block media delivery and storage systems to deliver RAID 7.3. The triple parity of RAID 7.3 greatly decreases the probability of system failure and ensures rapid data recovery even if three disks fail simultaneously.
