Schneider Electric Appoints Mark Yeeles as Vice President of Industrial Automation in the UK & Ireland 26/11/2020

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced the appointment of Mark Yeeles as Vice President of Industrial Automation in the UK and Ireland. Yeeles, will take over from Martin Walder, who will move into a new European role, overseeing Industrial Automation Transformation in Europe.
Yeeles will play a fundamental role in driving forward Industrial Automation in the region, with a specific focus on increasing the uptake of interoperable automation software. While the sector has yet to feel the full benefits of digitalisation and automation, Yeeles will help to make its potential a reality, fueling the next phase of fast-paced growth in the UK and Ireland.
In the midst of a period of intense change following Covid-19, the importance of remote management, advanced robotics, and predictive analytics solutions has never been higher. With a specific focus on the CPG, food and beverage, and water and water waste markets, Yeeles will be tasked with helping partners and clients meet a new set of challenges.
Mark is the right person to continue the growth of the Industrial Automation division, said Mike Hughes, Zone President UK&I at Schneider Electric. Over his 25 years' in the industry including five with Schneider Electric, he has consistently proven his understanding of the market challenges our customers and partners face and how Schneider can help them. He brings great skills, knowledge and a fantastic ability to exceed customer expectations to the role.
Commenting on the appointment Yeeles said, I am absolutely delighted with the opportunity to lead the Industrial Automation team in the UK & Ireland. 2021 will be a year of great change with many opportunities for the sector to transform. We must embrace software collaboration and broaden our technological horizons to meet the challenges ahead. Martin Walder
Vice President of Industrial Automation, Schneider Electric UK & Ireland
Martin has worked in the automation supply industry for over 30 years, joining Schneider Electric in 2015 as Vice President of Industrial Automation across UK and Ireland. Throughout the years, Martin has driven the adoption of the latest robotics and autonomous systems, control and information solutions through both commercial and trade association roles. He is currently responsible for Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure automation offer for Smart Machines and Factories and for Industrial Market Segments having had previous roles with Honeywell, Rockwell and ABB Robotics. Martin believes that the technologies of the 4th Industrial revolution will help reinforce the agility, efficiency, and resiliency of our industries. An acceleration of digital and industrial IIoT solutions will not only make remote and predictive maintenance a reality, but are also at the core of the net zero carbon sustainability drive. Martin was sponsored through university and trained as a control systems engineer and since 2008, has also been Chairman of the Engineering and Machinery Alliance (EAMA) an umbrella trade association representing circa 2,000 companies across the mechanical and electronic engineering space.
