SCTE CABLE-TEC EXPO 2014 TO HIGHLIGHT DEVOPS,' AGILE DEVELOPMENT
Software delivery guru Doc Norton to headline back-to-back workshops on Wednesday, Sept. 24
JULY 22, 2014 (Exton, PA) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) will shine a spotlight on two increasingly important disciplines Development Operations, or "DevOps," and Agile Development during back-to-back workshops on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 in Denver.
Michael (Doc) Norton, global director, engineering culture for Groupon, and technology leaders from Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Liberty Global will engage in a pair of one-hour discussions that are designed to provide an overview of DevOps, as well as an understanding of how DevOps and Agile Development are supporting cable's RDK initiative.

"Our industry is rapidly adopting DevOps methods for software development and to bring products to market," said Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO of Comcast Cable. "The insights of Doc Norton and our other panelists, as well as the real-world implementation of RDK, will help our audience understand the vision and the reality of DevOps' contributions to cable's competitive position."
An agile practitioner and coach since 1999, Norton is focused on helping teams, departments and companies work better together in the pursuit of better software. To be held from Monday through Thursday, Sept. 22-25 at the Colorado Convention Center, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo once again promises to be the leading venue for helping the cable telecommunications industry and its workforce to reduce costs, deploy new services and increase customer satisfaction. This year's event will feature keynote insights from two of the industry's most notable executives: Rob Lloyd, president, development and sales for Cisco Systems, Inc., and Mike Fries, president and CEO of Liberty Global.
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 also will feature other thought leaders confronting technical challenges facing the industry; peer-to-peer interaction and networking; hundreds of hands-on, technology-centric exhibits; an extensive menu of robust and relevant technical workshops; the International Cable-Tec Games; the IP Challenge highlighting expertise in IP networking and engineering; and other events.
