Heralds new era for Electronic Drummers

Roland, in collaboration with Drum Workshop (DW), has unveiled the DrumLink wireless system, which they are calling a groundbreaking advancement in wireless triggering technology for electronic drummers. This new system promises to simplify connectivity, offering quicker setups and a sleeker appearance.

DrumLink has been designed to enhance both Roland V-Drums kits and hybrid acoustic-electronic setups. With its rapid response times and reliable performance, it claims to deliver an experience akin to traditional analogue triggering. The system supports up to 30 active instruments simultaneously, paving the way for more versatile hybrid, electronic, and software-based drumming configurations.

Key components of the DrumLink System The DrumLink system consists of two primary components: the WT-10 Wireless Trigger Adapter and the DH-10 DrumLink Hub, which are both compatible with a variety of sound sources, including Rolands V71, TD-50X, TD-27 sound modules, SPD-SX PRO Sampling Pad, and the DW Soundworks software instrument.

WT-10 Wireless Trigger Adapter The WT-10 adapter converts analogue trigger outputs from compatible Roland drum and cymbal pads, as well as acoustic drum triggers, into wireless signals.The WT-10 adapter converts analogue trigger outputs from compatible Roland drum and cymbal pads, as well as acoustic drum triggers, into wireless signals. It supports both single- and dual-trigger pads, allowing two pads to connect to one unit. It can also handle a single cymbal with dual outputs for bow/bell/edge triggering and hi-hat pads with dual trigger/control outputs. The WT-10 features an adjustable mount for secure attachment to various drum and cymbal stands.

DH-10 DrumLink Hub The compact DH-10 Hub collects trigger signals from up to 15 WT-10 units and transmits them to a sound module or computer via a USB-C connection. It also includes a TRS MIDI output for sending trigger signals to any sound source that accepts MIDI note messages and CC data.

Enhancing DWe Convertible Drum Sets For users of Drum Workshop's DWe acoustic-electronic wireless convertible drums, the Roland 4CY-4WT-01 DrumLink Cymbal Pack offers an integrated solution. This pack includes three CY-16R-T crash/ride pads, one VH-10 V-Hi-Hat pad, and four WT-10 Wireless Trigger Adapters, all designed to work seamlessly with the DWe DrumLink Wireless Hub. Drum Workshop also offers complete four- and five-piece DWe kit bundles with Roland V-Cymbals and WT-10 units.
