Visual effects company DNEG has partnered with Brompton Technologies to offer virtual production to clients.

The VFX house has created a new in-house studio environment tailored to virtual production.

It has selected Brompton's Tessera SX40 4K processors for the virtual production set-up. The image processing is impressively fast, the Genlock options synchronise the content correctly across the LED volume with significantly less latency response and by using Brompton's Hydra dynamic calibration tools we're able to get the best HDR results from the wall, said head of virtual production Isaac Partouche.

DNEG has already completed a number of new LED volume tests, which Brompton has been closely involved with. TheTessera processing has made a big difference to how easily we've been able to set everything up and get it looking great, added Partouche. The initial tests were completed at Dimension Studios in Wimbledon the footage of our Gunslinger test is online, shot by our creative director Paul Franklin, and we have completed subsequent tests on a larger scale at Shepperton Studios. We also have an in-house creative lab setup, which is a useful proof of concept facility.

DW to drive news in connected cars Germany's DW is working with ACCESS to deliver its international and regional in multiple formats to connected cars.

Users of the ACCESS Twine for Car in-vehicle infotainment solution will be able to access news updates as audio, video or text alerts.

The rising streaming capabilities around connected cars provides consumers and media companies with new opportunities. Twine4Car enables DW to make the most of these exciting new developments as automotive becomes a future distribution outlet in the global media landscape.

Molotov selects Unified Streaming for AVoD Unified Streaming will enable French OTT company Molotov to launch dynamic ad insertion across its VOD content.

Molotov will employ Remix technology, a playlist-based system that allows on-the-fly and targeted editing of video streams, across its new Mango brand for documentary and children's programming. According to Unified Streaming, the main benefit to Molotov is the addition of dynamic ad insertion (DAI), which is enabled through Unified Streaming's integration with Ad Insertion Platform.

Clement Cezard, chief business development officer at Molotov said: Mango is the first free-to-air AVoD service in France and sets a new benchmark for the way content is monetised and distributed, while cementing Molotov's position as a leading content aggregator. Thanks to Unified Remix's dynamic playlist technology, along with Ad Insertion Platform, we are able to deliver a best-in-class OTT service to our 13 million registered users and welcome AVOD offerings from new publishers.

ACCESS: VFX connects over 1,000 mentors and mentees VFX coalition ACCESS:VFX has announced its global mentoring scheme has now connected 689 mentees and 346 mentors.

According to the group, BAME ethnicities and/or female members account for 70 per cent of all mentees. Some 57 per cent of all mentors are female and/or representing BAME communities, working across a wide range of departments, ranging from production, 3D, and art and animation.
