China leads the penetration of Ultra high definition 4K Mientras que el incremento en las ventas de televisores 4K de 40 y m s pulgadas est n creciendo sobre un 50% en Estados Unidos y Europa, en China esta cifra se eleva hasta el 66%.
Paul Gray, Research Director en IHS Markit, ha llevado a cabo en la 4K Summit 2017, que se celebra en M laga del 8 al 10 de noviembre, una minuciosa radiograf a de la situaci n del 4K en todo el mundo destacando que China lidera de forma destacada la penetraci n de la Ultra Alta Definici n. Mientras que el incremento en las ventas de televisores 4K de 40 y m s pulgadas est n creciendo sobre un 50% en Estados Unidos y Europa, en China esta cifra se eleva hasta el 66%. Los consumidores chinos que se decantan por formatos grandes se beneficiar n de una ca da paulatina en los precios que derivar en 2021 en alcanzar cifras que superar n los 50 millones de unidades. Norteam rica, ser el segundo mayor mercado en ventas de pantallas 4K en 2021 con m s de 30 millones de unidades, frente a los 19 millones en Europa Occidental.
Por otro lado, destac que en mercados como el chino, Norteam rica o Europa en el pr ximo a o ser dif cil comprar una pantalla de 50 pulgadas o superior sin resoluci n 4K. Pero, curiosamente, los pa ses con m s producci n y servicios 4K comerciales o piloto son los que menos penetraci n de televisores 4K presentan mientras aquellos en los el 4K no es m s que una sigla son los territorios en los que ya se est n vendiendo una cifra considerable de pantallas UHD. Gray prev que esta tendencia se invertir a lo largo de los pr ximos dos o tres a os.
Pero qu contenidos son los que est n tirando del carro del 4K? Paul Gray tiene claro que es el cine con el lanzamiento de t tulos por parte de Hollywood en 4K o la remasterizaci n de sus fondos. Detr s del cine, encontramos las series de ficci n, documentales y en menor medida eventos y deportes.
En cuanto al n mero de canales UHD, Europa cuenta ya con 32 servicios frente a los 13 de Estados Unidos, los 10 de Asia-Pac fico o los 5 de Jap n. En este pa s, las marcas est n llevando a cabo pol ticas muy agresivas para implantar el 4K, sin embargo los consumidores nipones apuestan por pantallas de peque as dimensiones.
Con respecto al 8K, China y Jap n dominar n la adopci n de esta nueva resoluci n con televisores por encima de las 65 . El 8K ser como un IMAX dom stico, pero no lo vemos viable por cuestiones de peso y tama o de las pantallas. Somos muy cautos en cuanto al mercado 8K pero a n as podr an comercializarse 3 millones de unidades 8K en el a o 2021 , se al Gray.
EL experto llam la atenci n del peligro que podr a suponer para el despegue del 4K si el consumidor percibe la idea de que ya es una tecnolog a obsoleta con la vista puesta en el 8K y la promoci n que supondr la emisi n de Tokio 2020 en esta resoluci n.
Por ltimo, se al que el OLED se est comiendo la cuota del LCD y que el HDR es una experiencia que los usuarios no deber an de perderse.
