FUJIFILM expands its mid-range industrial lens portfolio with five new models with outstanding resistance to shocks and vibrations. The new FUJINON HF-XA-1F product line is the heavy-duty version of the popular HF-XA-5M series.
FUJIFILM introduces a new series of industrial lenses specially designed for demanding applications requiring a high resistance to shocks and vibrations. The new FUJINON HF-XA-1F series is suitable for image sensor sizes from 2/3 to 1/1.2 and resolutions up to 5 Megapixel resulting in 3.45 m pixel sizes. This segment, which is the core of the industrial machine vision market, has been successfully addressed by the popular HF-XA-5M lenses so far. The HF-XA-1F series carries over the optical design and performance of the HF-XA-5M lenses into a completely new mechanical design optimized for shock and vibration resistance
Minimal optical shift with up to 10G shocks
The optical performance of the new series is identical with the one of the FUJINON
HF-XA-5M series with focal lengths ranging from 8mm to 35mm. In particular, the low distortion and consistent image sharpness along the edges are also found in the HF-XA-1F. This also applies to the short minimal object distance (starting 100 mm) as well as the consistent image quality regardless of the object distance.
The key difference between both series resides in the shock resistance. The FUJINON
HF-XA-1F series not only features FUJIFILM's popular Anti Shock & Vibration technology, but it also takes it one step further with a rugged mechanical design with no moving parts inside the lens. This ensures the highest possible optical stability and durability, even under harsh conditions.
The focus is adjusted with the special C-mount and its nut and counter nut system: The user attaches the lens to the camera by turning it into the C-mount thread until the correct focus is achieved. This position is then locked using the mount nut of the lens. That way, the complete lens is adjusted to the sensor without moving optical glass parts inside the lens.
Similarly, the iris is fixed to avoid moving parts to be shifted by shocks: Users can adapt the iris to their needs by exchanging the fix iris plate. Three different plates are provided with every lens: F open, F4, and F8. They can be easily exchanged by the user and are screw-locked to ensure they can withstand heavy shocks and vibrations.
FUJIFILM has tested the new lenses by applying forces up to 10G in six directions and measuring the shift of the optical axis after the test. The results are spectacular compared to conventional lenses with barely visible shifts.
Ideal for demanding industrial applications
Thanks to their unique design, the FUJINON HF-XA-1F lenses are ideal for imaging in tough environments or moving systems, for example in 3D/Stereoscopy or robotics applications. The range includes five models with 8mm to 35mm focal lengths:
