Dawn Simonton has been named vice president of network partnerships for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., it was announced by Lisa Hyams, senior vice president of network partnerships and project management for U.S. Network Operations, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Simonton is based in Atlanta and reports to Hyams.
In this role, Simonton will manage the business relationship with TNT, TBS and TCM for TBS, Inc.'s U.S. Network Operations group, responsible for 24/7/365 technical and operational support for the company's entertainment, sports, animation and young adult media on television and other digital platforms. Previously, Simonton served as senior director of strategy and sponsorship for Turner Sports Advertising Sales, where she led a team focused on developing innovative, large-scale, cross-platform opportunities that provided enhanced value for the brands. Prior to that, she served as senior director of operations and production management for Turner Sports with oversight of studio and remote operations for all broadcasts of NBA, NASCAR, MLB and PGA. She also served as director of business operations and studio facilities, where she covered several high profile events including the '92, '94 and '98 Winter Olympics.
Dawn is the right fit for this position as she brings a diverse skillset and more than 20 years of experience working in sports production, studio operations and ad sales, said Hyams. I'm confident that her background, ability to collaborate across business verticals and track record of cultivating strategic business relationships will prove beneficial to Turner.
Simonton is an active member of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) and is a charter and leadership team member for TBS, Inc.'s Turner Women Today business resource group, whose mission is to inspire, encourage and empower women to achieve their full potential where she currently serves on their leadership team.
