Globo launches original miniseries at mixes fiction and reality at MIPTV

Globo will launch miniseries Alem o Both Sides of the Operation' in Cannes, during the 2016 MIPTV. The plot was inspired by the police raid that took place in 2010 at Complexo do Alem o, which includes several communities in Rio de Janeiro. Mixed with real scenes, the miniseries tells the story of five undercover police officers who are investigating drug trafficking in the Complexo. On the eve of the invasion by state security forces, the head of the local drug dealers, played by heartthrob Cau Reymond ( Brazil Avenue' and Rules of the Game') discovers the true identity of the officers and puts a prize on their heads.

Trapped on the hill, the police officers are in the midst of growing tension generated by the expectation that the place will be raided at any time. All that Doca (Ot vio Muller, Rules of the Game'), Danillo (Gabriel Braga Nunes, Helena's Shadow'), Carlinhos (Marcello Melo Jr, Helena's Shadow'), Branco (Milhem Cortaz), and Samuel (Caio Blat, Empire') want is to come out alive. The only chance to save themselves is to run from the hill before the state forces get in.

The images are intended to engage viewers in the story, in light of the reality of the scenes, the complexity of the plot, and the power of interpretation of the actors. This thrilling story includes images produced by Globo's TV journalism, which froze Brazil in front of the TV. Among them are the scenes of the escape of hundreds of armed drug dealers made by the Brazilian TV broadcaster's helicopter. The journalistic work won Globo the International Emmy Award in the News' category in 2011. By mixing fiction and fact, the miniseries gains even more reality and emotion.

Globo will be located at the P0.A1 stand during the MIPTV.
