Studio Network Solutions (SNS), manufacturer ofworkflow-defined shared storage solutions for film, video, VFX, graphic animation and audio workgroups, today announced a new version of its EVO Shared Storage Server, version 5.7. The latest version includes new workflow integrations with cloud services from Adobe, Box, and Microsoft, plus more scalability and performance for production teams of any size.
The EVO v.5.7 release brings many new features such as a recycle bin, support for devices like card readers and USB storage, and enhanced LDAP/AD integrations. EVO has the capability to scale to 480TB per node, and can be ordered with up to 24 CPU cores and 512GB RAM for the largest environments.
This newest version of EVO also includes an updated ShareBrowser Desktop Client-a rich client interface similar to Finder/Explorer, but designed by SNS specifically to help media teams work and collaborate more efficiently.
ShareBrowser is a unified file/project/asset management interface for OS X and Windows. It ties storage and project/media management into a single pane of glass window, where editors can consolidate their interaction with storage quickly and conveniently, instead of floating among many different utilities to get work done. ShareBrowser also enables teams to search across all EVO storage as well as local, offline, and other network disks. File metadata can be instantly added to the shared database, and users can more easily find, preview, tag, and share media assets and projects. In addition to Dropbox and Hightail, ShareBrowser now enables customers to incorporate Adobe CC, Box, and Microsoft OneDrive cloud-based services into their workflow.
The Internet is no longer embraced just as a great delivery mechanism but also as a critical element of the modern content creation workflow. We're very excited about this and other trends we're seeing in the media industry, and we're proud that EVO is helping to disrupt the status quo, stated Eric Newbauer, Vice President of Studio Network Solutions. With our latest release, EVO reinforces its position as a fully encompassing solution that combines the best of on-site high performance shared storage with the benefits of today's leading cloud-based services.
Together, EVO and ShareBrowser provide an unparalleled workflow-centric experience with features like asset management and project/bin/media sharing functionality for leading video applications from Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk, Assimilate, Blackmagic Design, and others.
EVO v.5.7 gives professional media creation teams total flexibility with built-in NAS and SAN, more connectivity, more storage capacity, high performance, and enhanced features like automatic project file locking, project/bin sharing, proxy previews, asset tagging, RAID 5/6, NAS quotas, LDAP, and cloud integration.
EVO v.5.7 Shared Storage System Highlights Include:
Recycle bin for NAS shares
Increased NAS performance
Direct-connect USB storage and card readers
8 bay EVO units can now be expanded beyond 8 disks
Cloud integration now also includes Adobe Creative Cloud, Box, and OneDrive

EVO v.5.7 can be ordered in 4 bay, 8 bay, and 16 bay configurations. ShareBrowser is included with every new EVO Shared Storage Server. Contact SNS for pricing and information, 314-733-0551.
EVO v.5.7 is now shipping. Subsequent updates to EVO v.5.7 will be released later this year, with several highly anticipated new features such as the ability to transcode video directly within EVO, plus server-side metadata indexing and proxy creation. Follow @snstweets for more information.
Visit SNS in Booth #SL12413 at NAB 2015, April 13-16, Las Vegas Convention Center for a demonstration of all the new features in EVO v5.7.
