El desierto de Almer a acoge estos d as el rodaje de En Zona Hostil, la primera pel cula espa ola inspirada en un hecho real ocurrido a nuestro ej rcito durante su misi n en Afganist n.
El director a cargo de esta s per producci n es Adolfo Mart nez quien cuenta con una amplia experiencia en rodajes de acci n estadounidense de la talla de Terminator Salvation donde fue director de la 2 Unidad.
Ariadna Gil (ganadora del Goya a Mejor Actriz por Belle poque) encabeza un reparto en el que tambi n act an Roberto lamo (Goya al mejor actor de reparto por The large Spanish family), Antonio Garrido (La Playa de los Ahogados, El Camino de los Ingleses), Ra l M rida (Isabel o Land of wolves), Marian Hern ndez (Gym Tony) y Ruth Gabriel (Goya a la mejor actriz revelaci n por D as Contados) entre otros.
El rodaje cuenta con un gran despliegue de medios militares: helic pteros Chinook, helic pteros de ataque Tigre y Super Puma, veh culos militares de diversa tipolog a (transporte de tropas, veh culos de destinado, blindados ). Adem s de la participaci n de m s de setenta soldados en diversas funciones. Todo esto exige una gran preparaci n previa y una coordinaci n perfecta.
La pel cula, que cuenta con el apoyo de las Fuerzas Armadas Espa olas, est producida por Tornasol Films, Hern ndez y Fern ndez y Castafiore Films.
En zona hostil presenta las vivencias de militares espa oles desplazados a Afganist n. Un equipo antiminas americano, escoltado por un convoy de la Legi n espa ola, inspecciona una carretera al norte de Afganist n cuando uno de sus veh culos hace estallar una mina. La detonaci n deja como resultado dos heridos graves. La Capit n Varela (Ariadna Gil) es el oficial m dico del MEDEVAC (helic ptero medicalizado del Ej rcito espa ol) que acude a rescatar a los heridos. Pero al aterrizar el terreno cede y vuelcan dejando a la tripulaci n y a los legionarios atrapados en una planicie rodeada de montes. Con la noche llega el enemigo y ahora, la misi n de la Capit n Varela y sus compa eros, es mantenerse vivos hasta el amanecer
