Ro Video CEO, David Ro Finalist for EY s Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year

Wednesday, July 6, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] - Ross Video CEO, David Ross is a finalist for EY's prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award - Ontario Region. The announcement was made today in Toronto where the final awards gala will be hosted on October 27th, 2016.

Since winning a Technical Emmy for the impact made by Ross Video's game changing openGear signal processing platform, this is David's highest honour so far this year except for completing the Ottawa Race Weekend half marathon after a red-eye from Dubai, UAE.

The majority owner of one of Ottawa's most successful companies is an Invest Ottawa board member and highly respected for innovation and new technology.

Ross is a world leader in live video production technology and services with the broadest range of product offerings from any company. Ross now has an estimated valuation of more than $500M, with an average growth rate of 17% for the past 25 years and products in over 144 countries (as well as on the International Space Station).

David is proud to have built a world class R&D team centered in Ottawa with products manufactured in a recently expanded state of the art factory in Iroquois, Ontario one of the largest in Eastern Ontario. More than 90% of the company's output is exported.

With more than 600 employees, Ross is one of the rare Canadian born companies that has crossed the threshold from a medium to large size business.

As you might expect, David has been surrounded by engineering, business, and production switchers his entire life.

David began working full time at Ross Video in 1991 managing all switcher product development and working closely with the sales and marketing team. David was later promoted to Director, Product Development where he became responsible for all product development in the company and then to Executive Vice President, followed by a promotion to President, and now to CEO in April of 2006.

David does most of his work while on the treadmill in his office and is an accomplished athlete. He prefers to never discuss his struggles to master hockey.
