Magilla Entertainment signs up to Forscene for Discovery Channel series 12 April 2016

April 12, 2016 Recognised leader in non-scripted TV production, Magilla Entertainment has licenced professional video editing software, Forscene for one-year. The New York-based production company intends using the software to streamline their post workflow and bring down costs on a variety of reality shows including the recent 18 episode uporder of Diesel Brothers for Discovery Channel.

Diesel Brothers follows Heavy D, Diesel Dave and their crew at Dieselsellerz, the go-to destination for diesel lovers looking for tricked-out trucks, crazy stunts, pranks and antics. The series premiered in January of this year on Discovery Channel. Producing the show involves multiple cameras and features a number of truck builds that span several weeks, generating thousands of hours of footage. The Magilla team were looking for a solution that would provide access to the footage immediately after it was shot, allow them to log and search during production and help them scale down on the amount of material shot through collaboration between the production and post teams.

Other cloud-based solutions investigated were disregarded because they required extensive or expensive hardware setups or didn t offer functionality beyond viewing and sharing notes on a cut. Forscene's ability to run on almost any device over a standard internet connection and the fact that the software offers the full post-production toolset, provides multicam and multigroup functionality, has auxiliary TC capabilities and the capability to move work created in Forscene across all other leading NLE platforms, convinced Magilla Entertainment that this software was their ideal solution.
