Maxell hosted its first press event in the UK, outlining its new business strategy and future product launches since its succession of Hitachi's projector business.
At the event, Ioan Williams, UK & Ireland B2B sales manager, Maxell, outlined Maxell's ambition to ascertain 15% overall projector market share, with a market share of 20% in the 6000+ lumens range by 2021, focusing on a transition from lamp based projectors to SSL products.
Williams also explained Maxells plans for future products, with 15,000 lumens projectors, 4K units and 20,000 lumens WXGA/WUXGA projectors to be unveiled at ISE 2020.
In essence, Maxell is the new name for Hitachi, rebranding existing Hitachi lamp products (CP) and laser products (LP) to MC and MP models respectively.
Maxell took over Hitachi's projector business in 2013 and will continue to work with existing channel partners in the UK such as Exertis, Midwich and Sahara.
The company also outlined its intention to introduce a range of LED signage in Q2/Q3 of 2020, with plans for videowall products to be launched in the future.
Maxell demonstrated its MA-XL1 capture station at the event, allowing users to switch content, record, stream, upload and replay video while recording and create a remote classroom through a single control point.
The MA-XL1 allows users to record and upload interactive content while collaborating across multiple remote locations, with control provided by a menu displayed on a lecture screen or smart device.
Maxell's laser 5000 series projector also made an appearance, demonstrating the MP-WU5603, featuring 360 degrees projection, portrait mode, three digital inputs and 500,000:1 contrast.
