Predestination takes on the Babadook at the 4 Annual AACTA Awards

The nominations are in for the 4th annual AACTA Awards, celebrating the best in Australian Film and Television.

The Spierig brothers' time-travel flick Predestination leads the pack with nine nominations, facing off against The Babadook, Charlie's Country, The Railway Man, The Water Diviner and Tracks in the Best Film competition.

Though Russell Crowe's directorial debut The Water Diviner earned an impressive eight nominations, Rusty was shut out of the Best Director field, making way for The Babadook's Jennifer Kent, Charlie's Country helmer Rolf de Heer, The Rover's David Mich d, and, of course, Peter and Michael Spierig.

Before sharing some of the other nominees, let's pour some out for These Final Hours and The Infinite Man, two local productions that were shut out entirely.
