COSTA MESA, CA - CAS and FIZ Karlsruhe have announced the release of STN Viewer, a new Web-based workflow productivity tool that dramatically increases patent professionals' efficiency. Seamlessly integrated with STN , the premier online information service for science and technology, STN Viewer helps researchers to easily manage and evaluate full-text patent documents available in STN's collection of premier patent databases.
STN Viewer is seamlessly implemented within STN Express , the preferred software for information professionals. Unique to the STN Viewer are its advanced highlighting capabilities employing unsurpassed truncation options. Its flexible document labeling features offer users a means to efficiently manage patent information projects. Use of STN Viewer is included in the STN Fixed Fee plan, providing cost efficiencies for patent information users.
The STN Viewer will be demonstrated during the PIUG 2007 Annual Conference held May 5 through 10 in Costa Mesa, CA.
Patent information and law professionals will find that STN Viewer simplifies patent document organization and makes analysis far easier, said Catharina Maulbecker, CAS Vice President, Marketing and Sales. Using STN Viewer, they can draw on STN's high-quality science and technology databases, including CAplusSM and Derwent World Patents Index (DWPISM), to ensure that the information they retrieve is as complete, accurate, and timely as possible.
Cost effective and easy to use, STN Viewer allows patent professionals to be highly productive, said Rainer Stuike-Prill, FIZ Karlsruhe Vice President, Marketing and Sales. STN Viewer gives users the tools they need to quickly navigate through a patent, evaluate the crucial information, and identify relevant documents.
STN Viewer provides:
A powerful suite of tools designed for easy management of patent projects
Integration with STN, seamless access from patent searching to evaluation
Direct access to information contained in STN's highly valued full-text patent databases reporting national (British, French, German, U.S.), regional (European), and international (World Patent Organization) patent literature
With STN Viewer, information and intellectual property professionals can create custom patent projects using full-text patent documents. They can also share patent projects with others in their organization or team.
Patent professionals can easily evaluate patents with STN Viewer, view major sections, publication stages and family members; define and highlight terms and phrases; and navigate the entire patent document via a visual summary of highlighted terms. STN Viewer also provides users with the capability to create reports in the .rtf format maintaining their customized highlighting, as well as the ability to save projects for use with STN Express post-processing tools.
