Call for public to vote for Play The Picnic Finalists

The longlist for 2fm's Play the Picnic with Oxfam has been announced and 30 acts from around the country are in with a chance of playing at Ireland's biggest music festival, Electric Picnic.

In alphabetical order, the longlist is:

13, Ae Mak, Aine Cahill, Atlantis Fire Department, Bobby Sludds, Cramptown Spaces,El Grey, Emerson, Fallings, Fox Jaw, Heroes in Hiding, Hvmmingbyrd Music, Just Mikey, Lumberjack, Monster Monster, Myth, Neev Kennedy, Nella, Overcoats, Rollin Empire, Scarlett Parade, Seo Linn, Silent Noise Parade, State Lights, Stephanie Rainey, The Matthews, Tonight We Live, Watch the Sky, White Boys and Wolves of Youth.

The 30 singers, rappers, musicians and bands have been whittled down from hundreds of entries nationwide and now 2fm, Oxfam and Electric Picnic are calling on the public to vote for their favourite between now and Friday 24 July in a bid to help their favourite act make the shortlist of ten in the final stage of the competition.

The shortlisted 10 will win a coveted live set at Oxfam Ireland's Oxjam Tent at Electric Picnic from 4 to 6 September 2015 and will get to stay on after their performance and soak up the atmosphere with weekend camping tickets for all band members.

Their winning track will also be played to the nation on 2fm from Thursday 30 July to Wednesday 12 August as a public text vote competition determines one overall winning act.

The overall winner will go on to play The Cosby Stage at the Picnic, gaining even more exposure at the festival. The act voted number one will also win two masterclasses with some of the best experts in the music industry Festival Republic Managing Director, Melvin Benn and 2fm Director of Music and Sound, Mark McCabe.
