Hangzhou Bay New Zone to be built as a holiday paradise

With the opening of the Ningbo Fangte Oriental Heritage Park in Apirl 2016, which won the "most anticipated theme park award", Hangzhou Bay New Zone has got a new cultural tourism "name card" besides such exisiting tourist resources as wetland and hot spring. The opening of the Oriental Heritage Park, as well as the construction of the "Road for Revival" patriotism education base and the Tomorrow China Park, has sparked the cultural tourism fever at the Hangzhou Bay New Zone.

The "wetland has been a symbol of the new zone. According to some global authoritative bird-watching organizations, over 220 kinds of birds have been found at the wetland of Hangzhou Bay New Zone, which enables it t become a "bird paradise" in China and a wonderful bird-watching resort in the world. In December 2011, the Wetland Park of the new zone was entitled as a national wetland park. At present, the wetland is applying for the inclusion in the list of the important international wetlands adn the list of the national AAAAA scenic areas.

With the discovery of the hot springs in 2013, Hangzhou Bay New Zone has got another important tourist resource. The hot springs of the new zone, mainly formed during the quaternary strata period, are in abundance, and rich in such microelements as iodine, bromine, lithium and fluorine. As the temperature of the water can reach 53.5 degrees centigrade, the hot springs have great health benefits for people. The Happy Island, with an investment of 1.2 billion yuan, is a high-tech amusement park with strong marine culture features. The Happy Island consists of the water park and the land park. The water park is the largest indoor water world in China, and it has the constant temperature in the four seasons with the submarine geothermal energy. The land park has built such interactive amusement projects for children as the super ferris wheel, the merry-go-round and the war boats.

In addition to the existing tourist resources and ecological advantages, the new zone has develped the four theme resources including the wetland sightseeing leisure tours, the amusement leisure theme tours, the hot spring holiday tours and the ecological industry-themed tours. As a tourist paradise for family weekend tours, the new zone is becoming a leisure tour destination in the Yangtze River Delta area with the annual tourist amount of over 10 million.
