Oliver Rothschild, Awards Chairman said: The tve Global Sustainability Film Awards 2014 have taken us around the world in an evening, and given us a very visual insight into how companies and institutions big and small are tackling some of the biggest challenges we face on this planet. I hope that companies and foundations globally and in a variety of sectors will want to watch these films online and on tv and aspire to exercise sustainable business protocols and thus be making a genuine contribution towards valid ethical standards.
tve's executive director Cheryl Campbell said: We doubled the number of films entered this year, and we were thrilled to have entries from Latin America, north America, Asia, Australia and Europe. It is inspiring that big and small companies, a charity and an academic institution are among the winners this year. Thanks to our partnership with Propeller TV, the films will go on to reach a wide broadcast audience and I very much hope they will inspire many more companies and institutions to be ambitious in their approach to sustainability.
Ryan Brennan, Strategic Development Director of The Fastflow Group which sponsored the Fastflow Award for Community Investment said: The unprecedented number of magnificent entries demonstrates how film is increasingly used to portray the challenges and solutions to creating a sustainable future. It is also an endorsement of tve as an architect of positive environmental change through film.
It was very difficult for the judges to choose between the entries - but what a wonderful problem to have. I wish we could have given everyone an award because they have all showed not only that they care about our future but that they are trying to change. If the Awards have encouraged positive change then we have made a small contribution to the biggest challenge our world has ever faced.
