(Nasdaq:DTSI), ein f hrendes Unternehmen im Bereich hochaufl sender Audiol sungen und Audiooptimierungstechnologien, gab heute bekannt, dass es eine endg ltige Vereinbarung zur bernahme der iBiquity Digital Corporation, dem Entwickler der digitalen HD Radio-Technologie f r die bertragung von Audio und Daten im Mittelwellen- und UKW-Bandbereich, f r ca. US$ 172 Mio. eingegangen ist. DTS plant, die Transaktion durch eigene Barreserven sowie Fremdmittel zu finanzieren.
iBiquity ist Exklusiventwickler und Lizenzgeber der HD Radio-Technologie, der einzigen seitens der amerikanischen Rundfunkaufsichtsbeh rde FCC zugelassenen Methode zum Aufr sten des Rundfunks im Mittelwellen- und UKW-Bereich von analog auf digital. Die HD Radio-Technologie bietet berzeugende Vorteile, darunter verbesserte Audioqualit t, erweiterte Auswahl der Inhalte sowie neue digitale Datendienste, wie z. B. die Anzeige von Album-Covern und aktuelle Verkehrsmeldungen in Echtzeit. Unter iBiquitys Partnern befinden sich f hrende Automobilhersteller, Unterhaltungselektronikhersteller sowie Hersteller von Rundfunkelektronik, Rundfunkanstalten, Hersteller von Halbleitern und elektronischen Komponenten und Einzelh ndler.
Insbesondere hat iBiquity erfolgreich f r das Eindringen der HD Radio-Technologie im nordamerikanischen Erstausr stermarkt der Automobilindustrie gesorgt. Jede der 36 gro en Automobilmarken, die den US-Markt beliefern, bieten HD Radio-Technologie in einigen ihrer Fahrzeuge an, bei einigen Marken geh rt es sogar zur Grundausstattung. Die Technologie der Firma wurde in ca. 35 % aller in den USA im Jahre 2014 verkauften Automobile eingebaut und DTS rechnet damit, dass schon bald die Mehrzahl der nordamerikanischen Fahrzeuge mit HD Radio-Technologie ausgestattet sein wird.
