Breakfast Television in Calgary and Edmonton culminate their week-long Alberta broadcast with a special show featuring celebrity guests and live broadcasts from impacted communities tomorrow from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. MT on City

CALGARY/EDMONTON (June 27, 2013) As part of City's expanded coverage of the recent floods, Breakfast Television morning shows in Calgary and Edmonton will broadcast a special Alberta edition tomorrow (Friday, June 28) from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. MT on City. Later in the day, City will air Alberta Rebuilds, a one-hour prime-time special airing at 7 p.m. MT, honouring the unsung heroes of the floods.
Albertans have demonstrated their resilience and strength, coming together to help rebuild their communities, and we would like to contribute by lifting their spirits and celebrating local heroes, said Jordan Schwartz, Vice-President, In-House Productions, Rogers Media.
On Friday, June 28 from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. MT,City on-air personalities Tara Slone, Ryan Jespersen, Jill Belland and Andrew Schultz will host Breakfast Television live from Mission, one of the hardest hit communities in the Calgary area. Ted Henley will anchor the news from City Calgary studios, while Courtney Theriault reports live from High River and Bridget Ryan from Canmore. From Edmonton, Michelle McDougall and Carla Turner will provide updates on weather and traffic. Special guests include Australian pop sensation Cody Simpson, who is currently on tour in Edmonton, along with Kelly Hrudey, Jim Cuddy, Roberto Alomar, Ed Sheeran, Olympians Jesse Lumsden and Helen Upperton among others. Joining the broadcast are morning show hosts Kiah and Tara Jean from sister station 96.9 JACKfm, and Meghan Robinson from 660News. Breakfast Television websites BTCalgary.ca and BTedmonton.ca will carry a live stream of the show. Viewers can also visit the site to post their flood stories, and photos.
City's national daytime talk show Cityline joins the broadcast with host Tracy Moore from Toronto joined by the show's team of leading guest experts to provide tips to viewers to help with flood recovery, and support. Fashion Friday guest expert Sandra Pittana will also be live in Calgary where she is helping with cleanup.
Coverage continues later in the day with Alberta Rebuilds, at 7 p.m. MT on City. The broadcast will pay tribute to local heroes in the community, such as Nicole Schon, manager at Bite Groceteria, who has been working around the clock trying to help the store's nearby residents, from giving away their entire stock of perishable produce, fish and meant to impacted residents, to preparing meals and feeding the community.
Over the past week, Breakfast Television Edmonton and Breakfast Television Calgary teamed up to deliver a joint broadcast to audiences in both cities. City and 660News on-air personalities have reported from across the province, bringing viewers comprehensive coverage. Plus, a number of notable guests have appeared on Breakfast Television throughout the weekincluding today's Canadian morning show exclusive interview with Laureen Harper, wife of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, astronaut and Calgary Stampede 2013 Parade Marshal Chris Hadfield, Sheldon Kennedy, Hayley Wickenheiser, Theoren Flurry, and Mike Holmes.
