Anaheim, California (January 24, 2015) Apogee Electronics' MiC 96k has won the top award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in the category of Hardware Peripherals for Smartphones & Tablets at the 30th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards. The awards were held Saturday, January 24 during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.

Winning our 19th TEC Award for MiC 96k is a great way to begin our 30th anniversary year, said Sean McArthur, Apogee's Director of Marketing. It's an honor to be recognized by the best in our community and it validates our commitment to making innovative products of the highest quality.

The people and products that were nominated at this year's TEC Awards, especially on this milestone 30th anniversary, deserve our respect and admiration, said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. And those select few who have gone home with a coveted TEC Award have set a high bar for the industry. Apogee MiC 96k was selected for the award by a panel of pro audio and music industry professionals who carefully reviewed each nominated product. Lucas van der Mee, Apogee's Sr. Design Engineer, received the award on behalf of the company. Also honored during the evening's events were guitar legend Slash, who received the prestigious Les Paul Award, and NAMM TEC Hall of Fame inductees Nathan East and Ed Cherney. All three honorees happen to be Apogee customers.
