First demonstration of a Broadcom powered Smart STB utilizing Inview's OTT Software

Stand 146, TV Connect 2013, UK, March 19, 2013: Inview is demonstrating its first smart set top box software (STB) platform based on Broadcom silicon at TV Connect 2013 from 19-21 March in London.

Available to view at Inview stand 146, this is the first time that Inview's over-the-top (OTT) software is being demonstrated on a Broadcom platform. This Inview/Broadcom smart STB platform has the following key features:

Unified User Interface: 3rd generation user interface provides a single screen presents all available content

Small Memory Footprint: minimizes bill of material cost

Rapid User Interface Customization: consistent with customer's existing branding look and feel

Cloud-based architecture: easily scales to meet demand and provides secure control and monitoring

The Inview/Broadcom solution takes advantage of the availability of both internet and broadcast content to provide the consumer with maximum flexibility and convenience to find and select the programming of their choice regardless if the source is streaming media or traditional broadcast content.

Inview selected the Broadcom BCM7231 Smart STB system-on-a-chip (SoC) for its higher level of integration and performance. The BCM7231 enables advanced IP digital entertainment services in a low cost, high performance and compact package. The BCM7231 allows solution providers to cost effectively expand IPTV services, such as networked DVR and IP video services, for both client-server and low cost standalone deployment models.
