David Rocco's Dolce India, A Universal Language And Rocket Monkeys Among Its Globally Enticing Line-Up
TORONTO (Date) - Breakthrough Entertainment is making its DISCOP Africa debut in November, offering its acclaimed programming library to this African market for the first time. International Sales Executive Jodi Mackie will be attending on behalf of Breakthrough and in addition to handling the African Territory, also looks after sales across Scandinavia, Benelux, Latin America, Middle East, Israel and Turkey.
As part of its line-up, Breakthrough is presenting the critically-acclaimed documentary A Universal Language (1 x60') which documents the exciting once-in-a-lifetime journey of six top comedians as they explore comedy, identity and history throughout the Holy Land and uses comedy to bring peace to the Middle East.
Along with its feature documentary, their diverse lifestyle/reality catalog travels the world over with a wide variety of unique personalities and themes. David Rocco's Dolce India (13x30') follows engaging celebrity chef David Rocco as he takes his Italian-bred cooking skills to the limit by experimenting with complex Indian recipes while travelling the exotic country. Rustic Adventures (8x30') follows two young restaurateurs as they find inspiration for new endeavors while on a food tour across Italy. Sea Nation (10x30') introduces the journey of Megan McCormick, who takes on a voyage across the Caribbean into the unknown, leaving the comfort and security of routine life. Boundless (20x60') is an adrenaline-charged series that follows the adventures of two friends and fierce competitors in their worldwide quest to challenge their limits as they compete amongst themselves and others. Hollywood's 10 Best (99X30) is a countdown of the biggest big screen' moments and stars, where actors, directors, and writers discuss the high points and nuances of their films. Naked News: Uncovered! (8x30') is a quirky look at the real life studio of the Naked News crew, who put on the Internet's most exposed news program.
Breakthrough is further noted for their kids division, which has recently produced two international hits. Rocket Monkeys (26x30'/52x11') stars the universe's simian space heroes, Gus and Wally, whose zany adventures through the cosmos put them face-to-face with astonishing aliens, unbelievable planets and an evil, talking banana. Zerby Derby (13x30') is a visually unique, live-action series featuring life-like radio controlled cars who interact in a magical forest.
Breakthrough's Movies Division features a number of highly anticipated films, including Richie Mehta's I'll Follow You Down (1X90'), a sci-fi thriller starring Haley Joel Osment, Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell and Victor Garber. Also of note Jason Priestley-directed dramedy Cas & Dylan (1x90'), which stars highly- regarded newcomer Tatiana Maslany across from veteran actor Richard Dreyfuss.
