TDF has acquired French-based Ad Valem Technologies, no. 1 live broadcaster of leading sports and cultural events, by purchasing the entire equity of Ad Valem Technologies SAS.
Founded in 2008, Ad Valem designs, deploys and operates a unique live TV technology boosted by a broad range of media services including IPTV, OTT etc. Backed by the fiber optics and satellite association, Ad Valem provides TV channels with reliable and flexible connectivity solutions so as to guarantee top quality broadcasting of high profile events.
Ad Valem's services are underpinned by infrastructure consisting of an optical network, two teleports and a fiber / satellite hybrid vehicle fleet transporting images via two transmission channels. Over 60 stadiums and other leading venues are already connected to this ultra high speed network.
This acquisition provides TDF, market leader in digital transmission via its ultra high speed network with over 450 access points throughout France, with new TV broadcasting know-how. Olivier Huart, CEO of TDF, commented: This acquisition represents a leap forward that broadens TDF's expertise and enhances its services offering. Ad Valem is a leading player backed by unrivalled know-how that fits well with TDF's business .
Until now, Ad Valem's equity has been owned by the company's two founders, Marc Kapustin and Laurent Maurin together holding a 64% stake, and by investment funds Ventech and A+ Finance with a 36% stake.

With TDF alongside, Ad Valem will be backed by the resources and skills of a market leader to expand its services offering to ever more clients while delivering top quality .
This acquisition, which takes effect today, comes following exclusive negotiations that began September 4. Consistent with current statutory requirements, the planned transaction has been presented to staff representatives.
Ad Valem will be gradually integrated with TDF SAS over a period of time. Ad Valem posted 2014 revenues of 5.9 million.
