Musikki opens living music platform to app developers 24 February 2015

Musikki has today launched its Music API, allowing developers access to Musikki's real-time catalogue of music data, offering contextual musical info and providing new ways of musical discovery and recommendations.
Musikki is based on a proprietary algorithm that matches music data, content and information to the right artist, album or song by pulling multiple APIs and aggregating all the information into one dataset. The new Music API will allow selected partners access to the ever-growing catalogue of data and integrate this within their apps.
Joao Afonso, co-founder and CEO of Musikki, says: With the Music API launch, we're committed to extending our real-time catalogue of music data to developers, allowing their apps full access to an endless number of unique entries. How we differ is, while a typical music database only provides standalone music data, our Music API connects data, context, news and social information in real-time.'
Our goal is to provide a one-stop shop for your music needs. We've focused on creating the IMDB of music', a place for music fans to get closer to their most-loved bands, book tickets, manage their music collections, discover great new music and purchase or listen to their favourite tracks.'
We re also thrilled to be part of this year's SXSW s Music Hackathon as an API sponsor and excited to see what creative applications will come out of the Music API.'
The 2015 SXSW Music Hackathon Championship will host world-class hackers, designers, and programmers who will have 24 hours to create new tech innovations in the music space for artists, industry, and fans.
All data requests will continue to be handled by Musikki, so app developers can focus on building an app without any additional data usage or speed issues.
